Itinerary

Day 1: “From Lakes to Legends – Journey into the Hidden Himalayas”

Your adventure begins as you land in Srinagar, where the crisp mountain air greets you like an old friend. Without lingering long, you set off on a spectacular drive toward the secluded and soul-stirring Gurez Valley—one of Kashmir’s best-kept secrets.

The route takes you over the majestic Razdan Pass, perched at over 11,000 feet, offering sweeping views of rugged peaks and drifting clouds that seem close enough to touch. As you descend, the valley opens up—lush meadows, wooden homes, and the shimmering Kishanganga River flowing beside you.

✨ Good to know: Gurez was once part of the ancient Silk Route. Even today, it feels untouched by time, with limited network connectivity—perfect for a digital detox.

Day 2: “Whispers of the Valley – Stories Etched in Silence”

Wake up to the sound of the river and a sky painted in soft pastels. Today is dedicated to soaking in the raw beauty of Gurez.

Visit the charming village of Dawar, the heart of the valley, and interact with the warm and hospitable locals. Marvel at the iconic Habba Khatoon Peak, named after a legendary Kashmiri poetess—its pyramid-like form dominating the skyline.

Take a leisurely walk along the Kishanganga River or simply sit and let the stillness of the valley seep into your soul.

✨ Good to know: The Dard-Shin tribe inhabits Gurez and has a unique culture, language, and traditions distinct from the rest of Kashmir.

Day 3: “Back to the Heart – From Wilderness to Water Dreams”

Bid farewell to Gurez and retrace your scenic journey back to Srinagar. By afternoon, the city welcomes you with its timeless charm.

Explore the Mughal elegance of Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, where cascading fountains and terraced lawns narrate stories of royal leisure.

As evening falls, glide across the serene waters of Dal Lake on a traditional Shikara. The reflection of the mountains and floating gardens creates a dreamlike canvas.

✨ Good to know: Shikara rides are best during sunset when the lake turns golden and the floating market comes alive.

Day 4: “Into the Alpine Realm – Where Glaciers Whisper”

Today, venture into the “Meadow of Gold”—Sonmarg. The journey itself is mesmerizing, with riverside roads and snow-capped peaks guiding your way.

Visit the stunning Thajiwas Glacier, where you can walk on snow even in late spring. Continue further (if weather permits) to Zoji La Pass near Zero Point, where stark, dramatic landscapes contrast beautifully with the lush valleys below.

✨ Good to know: Weather in Sonmarg can change quickly—carry warm layers even if Srinagar feels mild.

Day 5: “Valley of Shepherds – Where Rivers Sing & Meadows Breathe”

Set out on a picturesque drive to Pahalgam, where every turn feels like stepping into a painting. As you arrive, the fresh scent of pine forests and the melody of the Lidder River instantly slow time down.

Begin your exploration with the enchanting Betaab Valley, framed by snow-draped peaks and lush greenery. Continue onward to the serene Aru Valley, a quiet paradise known for its alpine meadows and pristine charm.

Now, head towards the often-overlooked yet breathtaking Chandanwari (Chandwari), located about 16 km from Pahalgam. This scenic spot, nestled along the Lidder River, is the starting point of the sacred Amarnath Yatra. Expect patches of snow, rustic wooden bridges, and dramatic mountain backdrops that feel untouched and wild.

Take time to wander, click photographs, or simply sit by the river and absorb the serenity.

✨ Good to know:

  • Chandanwari tends to be colder than Pahalgam—carry an extra layer.

  • Roads can be narrow; local taxis are often required beyond a certain point.

  • Snow patches here make it one of the best spots for a quick snow experience without long treks.

Return to Pahalgam by evening, with a heart full of landscapes that feel almost unreal.

Day 6: “Trails Less Taken – Gardens, Springs & Mountain Highs”

Today is a journey through Kashmir’s lesser-explored gems. Begin with Kokernag, famous for its freshwater springs shaped like a rooster’s claw. Continue to Achabal Gardens, a Mughal masterpiece where terraced lawns and flowing water channels create a tranquil retreat.

Visit Verinag, the source of the Jhelum River, with its crystal-clear spring enclosed by elegant stone architecture.

End your day with a drive to Sinthan Top—a high-altitude pass offering panoramic views and often snow even in summer. Return to Pahalgam by evening.

✨ Good to know: Sinthan Top is less crowded than other high passes, making it perfect for those seeking solitude and raw Himalayan beauty.

Day 7: “Farewell Kashmir – Memories That Linger Like Mist”

As your journey concludes, take a final breath of the crisp mountain air. The landscapes you’ve traversed—from hidden valleys to shimmering lakes—stay etched in memory.

Drive back for your onward journey, carrying with you not just photographs, but stories, stillness, and a piece of Kashmir’s soul.

✨ Good to know: Start early for departure to avoid traffic and allow buffer time for security checks, especially during peak travel season.
