Itinerary

Day 01 – A Sacred Beginning | Arrival – Chilaw – Dambulla

Drive Time: Approx. 5 Hours Total

As you step off the plane at Bandaranaike International Airport, a warm Lankan smile and a blossoming garland welcome you to paradise. Your journey begins along the western coast with a sacred visit to the Munneswaram Hindu Temple, a revered site drenched in centuries of legend. Nearby, stop at the Manavari Kovil, where spiritual echoes linger in the breeze.

By afternoon, journey inland to the heart of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle — Dambulla, home to the island’s most magnificent cave temple. Discover the Golden Dambulla Cave Temple, with its glowing frescoes and serene Buddhas carved deep into stone sanctuaries. This mystical enclave has watched over pilgrims for over two millennia.

Overnight in Dambulla

Day 02 – Coastal Reverence | Dambulla – Trincomalee – Dambulla

Drive Time: Approx. 4 Hours Round Trip

After a hearty breakfast, head eastward to Trincomalee, the jewel of Sri Lanka’s northeast coast. Blessed with one of the world’s finest natural harbors, this serene seaside town blends spirituality with sunlit serenity.

Visit the sky-hugging Koneswaram Temple, a clifftop sanctuary dedicated to Lord Shiva, followed by the Shankari Devi Shakti Peetham, one of the most sacred sites in the Hindu tradition. Explore the weathered walls of Fort Fredrick, walk among war heroes at the British War Cemetery, and take a rejuvenating dip at the Kanniya Hot Springs, famed for their healing properties.

Day 03 – Of Lions & Legends | Dambulla – Sigiriya – Kandy

Drive Time: Approx. 3 Hours

Begin your day at Sigiriya, where an ancient king built his palace atop a lion-shaped rock. Climb the iconic Lion Rock Fortress, through fresco-adorned staircases to sweeping jungle views. A true marvel of engineering, artistry, and ambition.

Then drive south through fragrant spice gardens, where you'll learn the secrets of Sri Lanka’s herbal remedies. Continue to the highland capital — Kandy, a World Heritage Site brimming with royal heritage and religious reverence. Visit the hallowed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where a fragment of Buddha’s tooth lies in golden repose.

Delight in a sunset cultural dance performance and visit the lush Royal Botanical Gardens, the Silk & Batik Factory, and panoramic Kandy View Point.

Overnight in Kandy

Day 04 – Mist & Meadows | Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

Drive Time: Approx. 3 Hours

Wake up to cool mountain air and set off for Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s “Little England.” On the way, stop at the cascading Ramboda Waterfalls and visit the tranquil Ramboda Hanuman Temple — a key Ramayana trail site.

As you wind through velvety tea plantations, stop at a Tea Factory to sip Ceylon tea at its source. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya with its charming colonial architecture, misty hills, and scenic gems like Gregory Lake, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens, and the enchanting Seetha Amman Temple.

Don't forget to snap a photo at the quaint Pink Post Office, a relic of British rule still proudly standing.

Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 05 – Elephants to Empires | Nuwara Eliya – Pinnawala – Colombo

Drive Time: Approx. 5 Hours

Descend from the highlands to the lowlands and stop at the beloved Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can witness majestic Asian elephants bathing and playing in the river — a heartwarming spectacle.

Continue to Colombo, the capital’s colonial charm blending effortlessly with modern elegance. Embark on a guided city tour: explore the vibrant Petah Bazaar, serene Gangaramaya Temple, elegant BMICH, and architectural icons like Town Hall, Lotus Tower, and Independence Square.

Overnight in Colombo

Day 06 – Farewell Island

Drive Time: Approx. 45 Minutes

After breakfast, bid a fond farewell to the island’s magic. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey, carrying with you not just souvenirs, but a heart full of island tales, temple bells, and ocean whispers.
