Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City & Cu Chi Tunnels Adventure

Arrive in the vibrant metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City, a place where modern skyscrapers rise above colonial architecture and bustling markets. In the afternoon, embark on a fascinating journey just 60 kilometers away to the Cu Chi Tunnels.

As you ride through lush rice paddies and sleepy villages, the city’s chaos slowly melts into countryside serenity. Upon arrival, step back in time with a short documentary that reveals the underground world of the Viet Cong. Crawl through narrow tunnels once used as command centers, kitchens, and hospitals. Learn about ingenious trap systems and the resilience of those who fought here.

Imagine the tranquility of today’s landscape once shattered by relentless bombings, and then—if you wish—test your aim at the onsite shooting range. By evening, return to Ho Chi Minh City with a newfound appreciation of Vietnam’s history.

Day 2: The Mekong Delta’s Charm – My Tho & Ben Tre

Your day begins with an early morning pickup as you leave the city behind for the lush waterways of the Mekong Delta. For two hours, watch the scenery transform into an endless patchwork of rice fields, pineapple plantations, and small hamlets.

Arriving in My Tho, board a traditional motorboat to glide past the legendary Dragon, Phoenix, Turtle, and Unicorn Islands. On Unicorn Island, visit a honey farm and taste honey wine, rice wine, and banana wine. Wander through village lanes, then hop on a hand-rowed sampan that drifts under shady coconut palms, revealing scenes of daily river life.

Continue to Ben Tre where locals craft sweet coconut candy by hand. Feast on a traditional Vietnamese lunch by the riverside, then enjoy tropical fruits accompanied by live traditional music. Return to Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon. In the evening, you may stroll through Ben Thanh Market or soak up the neon-lit energy of Bui Vien Walking Street (best enjoyed on weekends).

Day 3: Mui Ne – Desert Dreams & Sunset Magic

Today takes you on a comfortable sleeper bus ride to Mui Ne, a coastal gem known for its surreal landscapes. Arriving around midday, your exploration begins with the Fairy Stream, a shallow brook meandering between cliffs of red, white, and orange sandstone. Remove your shoes, feel the cool water at your feet, and marvel at the natural artistry.

Next, visit a bustling fishing village where rows of round boats bob gently on turquoise waters. Continue to the White Sand Dunes, a vast desert-like expanse where you can ride ATVs or Jeeps for an adrenaline rush.

As the day softens, journey to the Red Sand Dunes, their fiery hues glowing as the sun dips below the horizon. Capture stunning photos of this natural spectacle before enjoying a local dinner. By evening, return to Ho Chi Minh City, carrying with you the golden memory of Mui Ne’s sunset.

Day 4: Fly to Danang – Marble Mountains & Hoi An by Night

Take a short flight north to Danang, where you’ll explore the mystical Marble Mountains—a cluster of limestone peaks dotted with caves, pagodas, and panoramic viewpoints. Later, transfer to Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage town. By evening, the lantern-lit streets come alive, glowing with romance and history. Wander riverside alleys, shop for handicrafts, and savor local specialties under strings of colorful lanterns.

Day 5: A Self-Guided Day at Ba Na Hills

Spend the day at your own pace exploring the enchanting Ba Na Hills. Ride the world’s longest cable car to a mountaintop world of fantasy. Stroll across the famous Golden Bridge, held aloft by giant stone hands, and wander French-inspired villages, flower gardens, and amusement parks nestled in the clouds.

Day 6: Fly to Hanoi – Village Crafts & Hidden Traditions

Arrive in Hanoi, Vietnam’s historic capital. Today, journey into the countryside to visit three traditional craft villages. Watch artisans handcraft colorful incense sticks, learn the delicate art of lacquer painting, and try your hand at weaving and painting a traditional conical hat.

A home-cooked village lunch brings you closer to local life, and if you wish, you may end your day at the famous Train Street, where cafés line the tracks just inches from passing trains.

Day 7: Bai Dinh, Trang An & Mua Cave Exploration

Embark on a day trip through the heart of Ninh Binh Province, often called “Ha Long Bay on Land.” Begin at Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest Buddhist complex in Vietnam, home to towering statues and serene courtyards framed by limestone cliffs.

Enjoy a Vietnamese buffet lunch before boarding a sampan boat through Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drift along emerald rivers, pass under dramatic limestone arches, and glide into mystical caves. End the day with a climb up Mua Cave Peak for a breathtaking panorama of the valley below.

Day 8: Journey to Sapa by Bus

Travel north to Sapa, a mountain town embraced by misty valleys and terraced hillsides.

Day 9: Sapa’s Mountain Views & Ethnic Villages

At 9:30 AM, begin a trek to Ham Rong Mountain for sweeping views of Sapa town, the Muong Hoa Valley, and the majestic Fansipan peak—the “Roof of Indochina.” Continue along scenic trails to Hmong villages such as Sa Seng, Hang Da, and Hau Chu Ngai.

Walk past orchards of plum and peach trees, discover daily life in rustic homes, and share a traditional lunch with locals. This trek is both a feast for the eyes and a window into the soul of Sapa’s ethnic communities.

Day 10: Conquer Fansipan Peak

Today, ascend to the summit of Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina. Reach the peak by cable car and marvel at the clouds swirling below you, temples perched on ridges, and views stretching endlessly over Vietnam’s northern highlands.

Day 11: Return to Hanoi by Bus

Relax and reflect on your Sapa adventure as you journey back to Hanoi.

Day 12: Ha Long Bay – Lan Ha Bay Cruise

Set sail on a luxury cruise from Tuan Chau Wharf. As limestone karsts rise dramatically from emerald waters, enjoy a delicious lunch onboard. Spend the afternoon kayaking through Dark & Bright Cave or exploring the tranquil Ba Trai Dao Lagoon.

At sunset, join a Vietnamese cooking class, take a dip in the pool, or sip cocktails as the sky turns gold. After dinner, try squid fishing or unwind under the stars.

Day 13: Lan Ha Bay – Back to Hanoi

Begin your morning with Tai Chi on the deck as the sun rises over the Gulf of Tonkin. After breakfast, enjoy kayaking in Ao Ech or visit Quan Y Cave on Cat Ba Island. Brunch onboard concludes your cruise before returning to Hanoi by afternoon.

Day 14: Hanoi at Leisure

A free day to shop, relax, or wander through Hanoi’s maze-like Old Quarter. Visit museums, sip strong Vietnamese coffee by Hoan Kiem Lake, or discover hidden temples tucked between narrow streets.

Day 15: Departure from Hanoi

Bid farewell to Vietnam, carrying home memories of golden sunsets, lush mountains, lantern-lit streets, and warm encounters with its people.
