Day 1: Into the Foothills – Arrival in Delhi & Scenic Drive to Manali

Welcome to the beginning of your Himalayan adventure! From the bustling capital of Delhi, embark on a scenic drive to Manali, the gateway to the high Himalayas. As the city fades behind, let the lush valleys, gurgling rivers, and pine-covered hills pull you into the magic of the mountains. Arrive in Manali by evening and rest in the crisp mountain air.

Day 2: Through the Tunnel of Time – Manali to Gonbo Rangjan via Atal Tunnel & Shinkula

Today, the real adventure begins. Drive through the Atal Tunnel, entering the stark beauty of Lahaul Valley. Enjoy photo stops at Solang Valley and Sissu before heading into rugged terrain toward Shinkula Pass—a high-altitude gateway into the mystical Zanskar region. Your day ends near the sacred and surreal rock formation of Gonbo Rangjan, surrounded by Himalayan silence and beauty.

Day 3: Salt Trails & Moonlands – Gonbo Rangjan to Tso Kar via Darcha & Pang

Continue your journey through wild, remote landscapes. Pass through Darcha, Sir Bhum Chun, Pang, and Meroo as the road climbs through desert plateaus and wind-sculpted valleys. By afternoon, arrive at Tso Kar, a salt-encrusted lake known for its ghostly beauty and exotic birdlife. Spend the evening beside the lake, embraced by silence and starlight.

Day 4: Boiling Earth & Sacred Waters – Tso Kar to Tso Moriri via Puga Valley

Drive through the vividly colored Puga Valley, dotted with steaming geothermal springs and mineral-rich earth. The road winds upward to Tso Moriri, a glacial-fed high-altitude lake of ethereal blue waters and spiritual calm. Watch the sun dip behind the peaks, painting the lake in a palette of pastels.

Day 5: Into the Void – Tso Moriri to Hanle via Mahe & Nyoma

Journey further into the remote Changthang region, passing ancient villages like Mahe and Nyoma. Reach Hanle, an isolated settlement famed for its astronomical observatory and unmatched night skies. Here, amid wind-swept silence and sweeping vistas, the cosmos feels closer than ever.

Day 6: Roads Above the Sky – Hanle to Pangong via Umling La Pass

Today you ascend Umling La Pass (5,883m)—the highest motorable road in the world. Cross into landscapes so otherworldly they seem pulled from a science fiction dream. Descend into the basin of the iconic Pangong Lake, where blue waters stretch endlessly beneath snowy ridges. Overnight near the serene village of Man on the lake’s quieter shore.

Day 7: Hidden Valleys of Ladakh – Pangong to Rumtse via Durbuk & Sakti

Follow a road that winds through lesser-traveled valleys and sleepy Ladakhi hamlets. Pass through Durbuk, Tsoltak, and Zingral en route to Sakti and Upshi, each village tucked between towering ridgelines. The day ends in Rumtse, a charming village known for its dramatic mountain backdrop and peaceful charm.

Day 8: Retracing the Wild – Rumtse to Manali via Pang & Darcha

Start your descent from the highlands, retracing your route via Pang, Meroo, Sir Bhum Chun, and Darcha. As you pass familiar landscapes from the reverse perspective, their beauty reveals new dimensions. Cross back into Lahaul through Shinkula, drive through Sissu, and reach Manali by evening. Reflect, rest, and celebrate a journey few dare to take.

Day 9: Descent to the Plains – Manali to Delhi Departure

After breakfast, begin your final drive from Manali back to Delhi. As the majestic mountains fade into memory and the plains open up, carry home a heart full of wonder, stories of silence and stars, and the spirit of the Himalayas etched into your soul. Arrive in Delhi by late evening for your drop-off.
